Okay, one more story and then it is nap time for an hour with the cats in the back room. My flat has a split plan and my studio is way in the front where the living room is. The study rooms are way in the back where it is quieter away from the loud street out front, which is wonderful for sleep, and that part of the building is also shaded by some large trees to keep it cooler. I will take a little nap and after that I am going to do yoga and write more heating, ventilation and A/C technology tech stories for 50 more minutes before completing my day’s shift. I guess my bandmate is going to meet me at my flat in five more hours, so I have plenty of time for a nap and a short workout at the beach. I was going to work on my cooling system today but I am just too tired for that, so I will wait till next week and do it with the help of my cooling corporation. This week I will just do the bare minimum and get ready for playing songs by the sea on this cool pier near my flat. My buddy and I will play by this local company in hopes of getting some gigs at the air conditioned club that always seems to be busy with customers. My buddy and I have all the gear we need to do shows in these bars even if they don’t have a sound system themselves. I need to go scrub my HEPA filter now and get to that nap.

I am trying to figure out what to put on our company cards for our band.

My buddy and I are leaning towards “Original Fun Music” because all of our songs are original and made up on the spot, and I was a comedian for 15 years so the fun is part of the package.

Our band name is Bad Endings because a lot of our earlier songs had awful endings to them, so my pal and I decided the name was a good fit. Good songs with awful endings, haha, my buddy and I are going to hand out these cards around town to the local suppliers with the hope of getting weekly gigs at three or four sites. I guess I could do three shows a week no problem, however, four a week may wear on me as the drumming takes a lot of energy. The new corporation in town heard us playing and told us he can get us on board soon so that my pal and I can get more gigs in these air conditioned beach bars around town. I guess it would be a fun way to spend the last 20 years of your life playing songs and having fun in clubs around town like my pal and I are trying to do. My buddy and I also want to play in ski resorts with good heating in the winter, as my pal and I have a cabin on the mountainside in a ski town and can stay there for free to do shows in the wintertime and receive some cash while having a blast. My buddy and I have a nice fireplace in the cabin and plenty of room for our gear.

I’m getting close to my break and after that I am going to take an hour’s rest, as my gramps used to call it, to recharge my batteries for the rest of the day.

• It is Thursday and there will be a lot of people in town visiting our beach, and my pal and I are going to play our beach songs on the pier around sunset for all of the people that come to our beach.

It should be a fun time and sometimes my pal and I make good money when people leave tips on the ground near us. The cooling corp is having a party next week and they are going to hire us to play in their air conditioned store at night for a group of people in town. I guess that is going to be a fun time and I am looking forward to making original, fun songs and making new friends. I never thought I would leave the heating, ventilation and A/C technology tech job to play songs, but life can throw you curveballs that you never thought you would see. I enjoy playing songs and I hope my pal and I can improve to the point that we are touring around in a van and doing shows in all parts of the country. This air conditioned and heated van would be our home for maybe a year of touring and after that I would come back to our hometown here to play for the local suppliers and beach bars. I guess it is a good plan and I am confident that my pal and I have what it takes to make it happen too.

Wow, today feels like I am walking through cream of wheat waist high, as I didn’t get much sleep and my mind is running on two cylinders.

I will keep on plowing through my work and hopefully I will have it done by the time night rolls around. I guess I will take a short nap in 15 minutes to clear my mind and give my body some energy. It’s a good job that yesterday I went to the grocery store and bought two weeks of food, so now I don’t have to worry about that for a while. The local company where I get my food is close to my flat and has some really good climate control to keep you comfy while you shop. I try to just shop three times a month for food to save myself time so that I can focus more on my work for the day. This modern corporation in town is starting a delivery company for food soon, so that means that I won’t have to leave my air conditioned luxury of my office to go shopping for food. Then I just need to put the food away and cook, which is easy because my meals are very simple. I will sort out my heating, ventilation and A/C technology system this weekend and then my flat is clean once again, except for the old and dusty space heating system that I used all winter, which will be cleaned and boxed up next week. I need to call my mom too because I don’t think we have talked in like two months.

I should have asked permission before using my friend’s portable space heater, but I did it anyway.

I was sitting there with the furnace in my house, I was still a bit shaky even having it, but not from the temperature outside at this point, but from taking his unit.

My neighbor who lives nearby told me that they just bought a portable space furnace and were raving about how hot and cozy it made their apartment feel. I decided to abruptly grab it, and I would bring it back in the day. Back at home I felt horrible. In addition to having stolen something that wasn’t mine, I felt bad because I knew my neighbor might need the furnace as well. If they felt chilly and had no other way to stay warm, what would happen? I made an effort to suppress my guilt as I went about my evening, savoring the warmth that the borrowed furnace provided. But I couldn’t help feeling guilty every time I looked at it. I made the decision to act morally as the night wore on because I couldn’t shake the guilt I was feeling. I apologized for stealing the furnace from her over the phone to my friend. The fact that I didn’t ask them before borrowing it still made them upset, but they understood. The next afternoon I delivered a handwritten note of apology, along with the portable space furnace, back to my friend’s door. I promised that I would never take something from them without their permission again, and I promised to make it up to them in any way I could.

I savor that my little boy gets excited about the simplest things in life.

I’m absolutely jealous that at the age of 3, whatever it is that’s new or pleasing to him, he will express himself.

He would do a little dance, clap his hands or go woohoo. I can’t help but smile and giggle at these reactions. His dances are outlandish as well, and they are not something you’d see at a wedding or a club. It’s just cute and he gets the kick out of me giggling. A few years ago my partner and I bought a home but it was pretty bare. My great friend and I didn’t have a lot of things in it but the essentials, beds, fridge, oven, furniture, etc. It was a home but my associate and I were not exactly living a comfortable life. Until just recently, my associate and I bought a new TV and I really wanted an air conditioner in the house. My great friend and I called the Heating and Air Conditioning supplier and after a week, the cooling expert came in and installed a central air conditioning unit. The home feels way better than it used to and at night, my associate and I all sleep much better. It’s kind of comical when the central air conditioner turns on because our child will yell, “Woohoo,” and run around the home followed by a small dance routine. No matter what I’m doing, I’ll watch in amazement and laugh and at times join in with him. Well, not the running part but the dance routine. I don’t have the energy to run but sharing that moment with him is amazing. Also, I know he loves seeing his daddy do it with him.
