I have never been the one to do what was popular, however for instance, I grew up in the South with some well-off folks which means I had to attend lots of parties plus afternoon teas! I never liked going to these things, although I was forced to because of my mom! So, one year, I decided to cut one of the major rules.
I wore colorless to a gathering after Labor Day.
My bad mother was horrified although I found it all to be comical, however needless to say, after that incident she never forced me to attend those boring parties again. My mother has constantly tried to control every aspect of my life, but and even after I moved out of her house, she tried to dictate how things should be in my own home. She wanted to decorate my household with charming furniture as well as antique plus glamorous furniture! When I took her furniture shopping with me, she tried to option out certain pieces, although I found them to be gaudy plus over-the-top. My Dad was used to a certain type of sophistication plus luxury, but clearly, I am not the same way. In fact, I like rustic furniture that is cozy plus inviting, however everyday furniture that is not just there for decoration… Growing up, my mom’s household had so numerous glamorous furniture pieces that my wonderful friend and I weren’t allowed to be in certain rooms, plus I was constantly bothered by that. So instead of glamorous furniture I chose to decorate my household with mostly rustic furniture that was sizzling plus welcoming. Needless to say, my Dad didn’t approve, but it’s my household plus I chose what made me cheerful.
