The first days can be good or bad.

My first day of work was the best day of my life for two main reasons.

First, I had always wanted to work in this company, the most successful and popular HVAC business in the state. The second was that I would be doing my dream job. When I graduated from college, I looked for a job for almost a year. During this time, I would intern for free at different HVAC companies, and in the last three months of that year, I got a chance to intern at a local business. During my internship, I shadowed a great HVAC repairman in the industry. It allowed me to learn from the industry’s best. I had been networking vigorously with HVAC professionals from all over, and one of them managed to set up an interview for a junior HVAC provider position. I went for the interview a little nervous and was surprised when I got the job. I looked forward to working on quality HVAC systems. On my first day at the company, I met the rest of my colleagues and was assigned my first HVAC installation. My supervisor allowed me to handle HVAC maintenance and air filter replacement afterward. Both of these jobs went very well, and my supervisor was impressed. I met with a representative of one of the most popular HVAC brands, and he took me through how to use the new HVAC tech to help with indoor comfort for any customer. I had worked on many HVAC units and thermostats, but the thrill never left me. My favorite so far is working on a ductless heat pump.

My next class was in an hour, and the HVAC professional was still trying to figure out what had caused the explosion or the explosive sound from the HVAC.

The system was long due for HVAC maintenance, but the place needed to be doing better than it used to, so I kept postponing.

There were days when I barely had time to catch my breath, but all I had now was too much time in my hands and bills piling up. When the HVAC repairman came to do repairs, she told me that I needed to start looking to buy a new ductless heat pump, not just a tune-up and air filter replacement, but my budget could not allow it. Whenever I came across an HVAC unit or anything concerning the HVAC business, I looked the other way. I tried to run away from my problems in more ways than one. Anything to do with the HVAC installation had taken a back seat. I was not surprised when the expert told me there was little she could do to salvage the system despite being from a renowned HVAC brand. I needed to purchase a quality HVAC to help with indoor comfort. The digital thermostat could survive another year before it also needed replacement. I had reached the end of my rope. A week later, my miracle happened, I got a call from an agency looking to hire a choreographer for a series of Broadway shows, and I knew that would be the turning point. I could contact the local business and get an HVAC provider to work on my HVAC.

I love traveling because I learn new things I can try at home. My last holiday was during our wedding anniversary. My wife and I had planned to take time off parenting and go for a weekend getaway at a cozy holiday home we’d been recommended to. While at the holiday home, I noticed that the HVAC installation they had in the house did not use any ducts. That piqued my interest because, apart from the thermostat, they were keen on HVAC maintenance and had even changed the air filters when we arrived. My wife thought that maybe the ductwork was well hidden for aesthetics, but I pointed out that there was no space for ductwork in that house. I had to ask the caretaker. On our second day, I wondered what the home used to help with indoor comfort because we found it very efficient but did not understand how it worked. The caretaker told us that it was a ductless heat pump. I had never heard of them because all the quality HVAC I was familiar with was ducted. The caretaker knew little about it and was ready to take us to the HVAC business to meet their HVAC provider for more details. Still, I assured him that with the HVAC unit name, we would inquire from the HVAC professional at the local business when we got home. I forgot about it until the HVAC repairman servicing our home’s a/c came around, and I remembered I had questions. I got to learn more about it, why more people are taking it up, and the HVAC brands with the best quality products for when I decide to upgrade our heating and cooling.

I’d visited my cousin, an HVAC provider, when he asked me to join him for an HVAC brands expo. In my mind, I thought it would be a boring event where we’d walk around looking at different brands selling their products as the best quality HVAC in the market and telling us how the HVAC installation would help with indoor comfort for all sorts of clients. My cousin runs an HVAC business, and I thought it would be a window-shopping experience. He promised I would have fun and possibly learn something worth my environmental activism. My skepticism made me feel that any mention of environmentalism would be a greenwashing move from businesses trying to sell me an HVAC unit. I followed him anyway because he promised drinks if I hated it, and I was sure I’d hate it. The first people he met were an HVAC professional team from a different local business, but they were friendly and not competitive. I was afraid he would start greeting everyone until we got to the exhibition area, and I went off to explore on my own. There were stands with different air filters where I learned about different types of HEPA filters and a thermostat stand. But the most interesting was the ductless heat pump exhibitions from other brands. I knew its capability at each stand, but they all agreed that it was a better option for the environment. I was so excited that I filled those parts for my Instagram story, and some of the replies I got from people who were already using heat pumps were that it did save energy and that HVAC maintenance was not as demanding as most people claimed. I learned so much that I decided to buy the resident HVAC repairman a few drinks to convince me to join him.

When I grew up my superb friend and I only had the money to live in an old house.

I’m not a fan of dealing with real estate agents, but if you want to buy property sometimes it’s a necessary evil… I have bought plus sold homes without real estate agents, but sometimes it helps to have a second set of hands on deck; Sporadically they shall find properties that you are not even aware have been listed. In these situations, it could be helpful to consult with a real estate agent even if you do not use them for the final sale, then there could be certain things about a house that you do not know to look for especially when you are hiring an inspector for the first time. I did not know how to find water disfigurement in homes when I was a new apartment buyer… But nowadays I can figure out even the most hidden water disfigurement problems, however on top of that, you might not know about finding out if you can make certain adjustments to homes after the fact! For instance, some homes will only take certain heating plus cooling systems. I bought an old house down south once that had such a small addict I couldn’t use a traditional ventilation system. I could not get metal ductwork so I had to use flex duct. Right now I’m dealing with a house that I’m trying to renovate even though I am starting to wonder if I should just get a package style a/c for it, but a package style a/c has one huge component that contains both the condenser plus the evaporator coil.
