Getting my dad settled in with new Heating, Ventilation & A/C

I am absolutely stoked that my dad Ed is now down here with us.

It took a whole lot of lobbying on my part, as well as my sibling chiming in for us to get Ed to move, then dad grew up and spent his entire adult life way up north.

This is the land of gas heating systems and not for the faint of heart when it comes to cold winter season weather. My Mom died four years ago after a brief illness. I know Ed wanted to stay in the family house as an affixion to her. But it was getting to the point where he wasn’t able to get out of the home when the snows came. And it was just too much home for him to keep up. My sibling absolutely thought Ed should move south where I live and I agreed. So I asked the boss if I could work remotely for a couple of months to get up north and help Ed sell the house. We replaced the residential Heating, Ventilation & A/C device and did some other updates to the house. I was totally blown away by the final number. I’m so blissful we were able to capitalize on this real estate bubble. So we helped Ed move down and he initially stayed inside the central air conditioning of our house with us. This was a nice way to transition for him as he just loves being around his grandchildren. It took us about 6 or 8 weeks to find the right spot for him. It’s a nice little loft that sits right on a golf course. This is heaven for Ed as just watching golfers is a wonderful time for him even if he’s not playing. We were also lucky that this home came with the latest in Heating, Ventilation & A/C technology and a new heat pump.
