I will write one more of these things and then move on to bigger and better stuff.

One thing I need to do is get some food in my stomach so that I can focus, as there is nothing worse than having a growling stomach while you try to get some work done.

I ate about an hour and a half ago, but it seems like I didn’t eat enough as I am feeling quite hungry right now. I may make my famous grilled cheese sandwich for a quick lunch and then go to the local business with my roommate to get some paperwork done for her. After that is done I will come home and work for a little bit more on my HVAC system before I do my exercise routine and then head out to meet some HVAC tech friends on the beach. Today is pretty windy and cool and it is also the last day of March, so I want to get some sun on the beach before it gets too crowded. If the beach is too windy then we will go to the HVAC company and hang out there while we watch the other heating workers do their thing in the showroom. It is going to be a busy weekend and they are trying to get everything ready for when the doors open on Saturday morning. The heating company expects to sell a lot of equipment this weekend because they have a lot of sales on the old heating systems that they are trying to unload from the shelves.

Sometimes you are given an opportunity in life, and if you don’t go for it you may never get that opportunity again.

This is what we are faced with right now as my bandmate and I are on the verge of something great, but his fear is paralyzing and if he doesn’t go for it then we may fall apart and be done.

We have been making some amazing songs, and a lot of people are talking about how much they like the music, but if my bandmate shies away from success then our opportunity may vanish forever. Heating and cooling repairs is what he does during the week, but his heart is with music and he needs to believe that he can make it happen or why even bother trying. I think he is very depressed and the depression is keeping him from taking the next step in success, and with me being his bandmate it isn’t helping me much with him being hesitant like this. I also work in the HVAC industry doing a lot of cooling system repairs and things like that, but I know that my music can take me places that this heating and cooling industry can’t, and so I want to push and make it happen before I get too old. I will try to get him on the same page as I am, but if he keeps being like a turtle then I will have no other option but to leave him and find another person who is hungry for success. Until then I’ll keep working on furnaces and heat pumps till the time is right to move on.

Just had a little skirmish with my roommate but I think we have sorted it all out now. Life can throw you all kinds of curveballs and bumps, but if you have some patience and a little bit of love you can get through them with little stress. I am a bit tired from hitting this bar too late last night, but the good news is that I think we may have a gig playing music there in two more days. I think it is an open mic jam session, so we won’t play long, but they have a fireplace next to the stage and I think it would be really cool to film us playing that night. I would like to get into other local businesses to perform but we need some good footage in a club, and this one with a nice fireplace for heating would be great. I will do my best that night to make a good show and hopefully we will get some more gigs out of it in the long run. My goal is to quit the HVAC business job in a few months and rely totally on the money I make from doing gigs to pay all of my bills. I think this summer will be a defining period for our band, and if we are lucky and push ourselves a bit I think we can end up making it work. My HVAC tech bandmate is a bit scared of success, but I think I can push him along and make our dream come true soon.

I’m really excited for my first furnace.

I know it sounds silly but I haven’t used a real central heating system in 10 years.

In order to save some money on my heating the air conditioning bills I had switched to use in a space heater every year. I do have to say that using a space heater is great and they are a very convenient heating device, however as I’m getting older I’m finding myself becoming cold more easily and I would rather spend my retirement with my entire house being nice and warm and toasty rather than just one room. The space here has definitely served its purpose and I will be storing it as a backup in case I ever need it but I feel like I’m ready to make the switch to a different kind of heating system. Now the problem is figuring out what kind of heating system it is I want to switch to. There are multiple different types of heating systems available, for instance there are fireplaces, and I have thought of getting one because I love the beauty of the fireplace but I think I’m going to stick to the traditional furnace. Now I’m just comparing all the benefits and drawbacks of a gas furnace, oil furnace, and electric furnace. I think I’ll ask one of those heating and AC workers and get their opinion. They always have lots of good heating and air conditioning tips that I’m sure could really help me out. I’ll be going down to the local heating and AC business on Sunday to take a look at all the heating and AC devices. I might just make my pick then.

I’m really ready for a brand new heating system.

I’m ready for a brand new heating system because my old one, while it’s been great, I’m looking for an upgrade.

For the longest time what I used for my heating system was a gas furnace. The gas furnace has worked great but I’m looking to switch to an electric furnace. I’ve been doing some research until after furnaces and not only are they more modern and are nicer than a gas furnace, but I’m also thinking about using a smart thermostat to go along with it. Now I would imagine that you’ve probably heard of a smart thermostat but if you haven’t ever heard of a smart thermostat it is a device that allows you to control your heating and air conditioning system from anywhere. In fact if you get a smart thermostat system that is programmable and can run off the Wi-Fi, then you can control your heating and AC system from your phone. Isn’t that amazing? I love the idea of being able to control your temperature without even being home. It just feels like that’s the best kind of ultimate climate control. You can even save your money on your heating and air conditioning bills because you can easily go and program your thermostat to turn on your heating or air conditioning system when you’re home or not. I plan to make the upgrade next year when I have the money to pay for it.

I recently called an electrician to add recessed lighting in my kitchen, i know I could have gotten my partner or sons to do the task.

It isn’t all that difficult, then you basically crawl around in the crawlspace, split a hole & plug in the light, but however, I know I don’t have those electrician skills.

I could research it, but I don’t actually have the time. I figured I would rather work & make cash to pay the electrician than do the work myself. I didn’t want to hound any of the boys in my family to do the electrical work either… So instead of calling in favors, I just called the local electrician near me, the electrician was actually great. He showed up on time & did the task in two hours. I provided the recessed lightning & he just did the task. What was actually wonderful was that the weather was nice. I took out my sunchair, got my laptop, cup of Coke & brought my animal outside. The two of us then had a actually productive afternoon. I got a lot of work done & the electrician installed my recessed lightning. It actually makes my kitchen look so much greater & grander. I had ugly puff lights before & they provided a lot of light, but didn’t look so great. With recessed lightning they are out of the way & quite classy looking. The electrician did a wonderful task & cleaned up all the leftover debris. What I especially liked is that he just took the cash & left. There was no chatting & wasting time with him.
