I work for a major construction company that has been in business for over 40 years. This company has worked on projects locally, nationally, as well as internationally. It has certainly made its mark within the industry and will be around for many years to come. Of course, like with any company, there will be some lingering issues coupled with some pros and cons. Personally, I believe that the pros outweigh the cons, hence the reason why I am still glad that I work for the company. Anyway, while the pros outweigh the cons, there is one criticism that I have that has been a lingering issue. This multi-million-dollar construction company is housed inside a warehouse that was transformed into an office space. And the company has been in this location for about 36 years. Well, there are some structural issues as well as equipment failures that have yet to be addressed in the best way. For instance, the HVAC system that is installed is always breaking down, especially during the Summer when the weather is hot outside. Every year, as the weather gets warm, we need to call our commercial HVAC provider to fix the unit. And it is usually because the unit stopped working or can’t keep up due to the high temperature outside. It’s obvious that the HVAC unit is old and needs to be replaced, but I assume that a new unit for a space that big will cost thousands of dollars and the company refuses to pay for it. They do get regular service on the HVAC unit, but those services never prevent the issues that show up later. I just hope that the company decides to get a new HVAC system soon because it is time.

I will write one more of these things plus then transfer on to bigger plus better stuff. One thing I need to do is get some food in my stomach so that I can focus, as there is nothing worse than having a growling stomach while you try to get some work done. I ate about an hour plus a half ago, however it seems like I didn’t eat enough as I am feeling quite hungry right now. I may make my famous grilled cheese sandwich for a quick supper plus then go to the local supplier with my roommate to get some paperwork done for her. After that is done I will come home plus work for a little bit more on my HVAC system before I do my exercise routine plus then head out to meet some HVAC tech friends on the beach. This week is pretty windy plus cool plus it is also the last afternoon of May, so I want to get some sun on the beach before it gets too crowded, if the beach is too windy then I will go to the HVAC supplier plus hang out there while my pal and I watch the other heating workers do their thing in the showroom. It is going to be a busy weekend plus they are trying to get everything ready for when the doors open on Wednesday morning, then the heating supplier expects to sell a lot of unit this weekend because they have a lot of sales on the outdated boilers that they are trying to unload from the shelves.

We had metal siding put on our home about 25 years ago. Over the years, hail, flying tree branches, stones, and balls had done a lot of damage to the siding. After all those years of abuse, we thought siding replacement was necessary. We were talking about downgrading and moving into a smaller house now that our children are grown and out of the house. We had several upgrades that needed done before we could sell that would make a tremendous difference in the price we could get for the house. The first improvement was removing the old metal siding, putting new insulation in the house, and having vinyl siding replacement installed. I wasn’t sure I wanted to go the expense of the siding replacement, but the realtor insisted. She told us we could ask five times the amount of the cost of the siding replacement and get it. We had to take out a loan for the siding replacement, but if the realtor was correct, we could pay off the loan and still have extra money when the house sold. It took less than a month for the vinyl siding replacement to be completed, and the house looked amazing. While waiting for the old house to sell, we were going to look for a smaller house. When we saw how nice the new vinyl siding looked, we were glad we had done the siding replacement. We found the perfect cottage that was just right for my husband and I and we knew we would be proud to have anyone come to the house.

We had old shingle tiles on our roof and knew it needed to be replaced. There was algae growing on the roof that was growing under the shingles and causing them to lift. As many times as my husband sprayed with algaecide, it just came back with a vengeance. I started looking for local roofing contractors and it amazed me at the amount of roofers in our area. Most of them offered free quotes for roofs. We started looking at the different shingles, metal roofs, and vinyl roofs. I loved the many colors and told my husband we could match the roofing to the siding, but he wanted the roof to be white. I wanted the red vinyl roof. We argued over what type of roofing we wanted, but we still hadn’t contacted a roofing contractor for a quote. The next day, I called four roofing contractors and asked for a free quote on our new roof. I scheduled one a day for the next four days. Three of the four contractors were very close in pricing, but one of them had everything written in the estimate that was included in the roofing job. He even figured in how many screws would be needed, and the gutters. I wasn’t sure he was the right roofing contractor, but my husband thought he was perfect. I thought we should look at the other roofing contractors before making a final decision, since there were so many of them in the area. Although I was hesitant using this roofing contractor, when the job was done, the roof looked amazing.
