My friend and I have always been interested in investing in old houses.

This all began after my partner and I had been together for two years! My friend and I decided to go hiking in this new area and came across an abandoned house.

My associate and I didn’t see anyone for miles, and my friend and I thought it looked so appealing all hidden away from the world. After hiking into a nearby town, my friend and I spoke with the locals and discovered it was for sale. This family-owned the house and vast tracts of land, and the kids no longer wanted to live there, so they put it on the market. My associate and I took a leap of faith, purchased the property, renovated it, and sold it about three years later. Recently, my friend and I purchased our fourth outdated home, and we are in the process of revitalizing it. The house is stunning and features a lot of colonial architecture. However, it had been vacant and neglected for a long time. This is why my friend and I needed to hire a roofing company to replace the aging roof first. There was no point in trying roof service because there was nothing to save. Roof replacement was far superior, allowing my friend and I to have soundproofing for the house. My colleague and I chose a local roofing company that was eager to get started. One issue my friend and I had was a large beehive that we didn’t notice when the roofers started their work. Roofers were jumping down and scampering to safety all over the place because irritated bees were attacking. The roofing company halted all work until my friend and I arrived with a bee removal company to relocate the hive as well as the irritated bees.

Ted and I had planned to go to the estate last Friday, but he couldn’t make it.

My associate and I are interested in searching such estates for vintage items, and my friend and I even have a website where we sell our finds. This all started several years ago when my friend and I decided to attend our first estate sale. Ted and I discovered amazing items such as decor, utensils, clothing, shoes, and trifolds. After my friend and I returned home with our haul, we took pictures and posted them on our social media pages, and people began bidding in the comment section, and thus the company was born! My friend and I now keep track of all estate sales in the states that surround us. The drive can be long and exhausting at times, but my friend and I always come home with great scores. Ted had a meeting with a siding contractor on this particular Friday, so I’d have to attend the sale on my own. He’d purchased a house the previous year, and his siding was in disrepair. He wanted the siding contractor to advise him on how to improve the appearance of his home. When I returned, I spoke with Ted, and he told me about his meeting with the siding contractor. The guy suggested replacing the siding in conjunction with the new roof. Ted had roofers at his house the previous month, removing the old roof and installing a new one. He’d hired a local roofing company to handle the job, and the results were fantastic. Ted reached an agreement with the siding contractor and chose replacement to improve the appearance of his home.

Mary had to wait for the siding contractor at his home, so he couldn’t attend the company meeting.

Thankfully, my friend and I can cover for each other if the other guy is unavailable.

Mary and I started a clothing resale business a few years ago, and it’s been doing really well. My colleague and I came across this man who needed assistance with his Grandmother’s large closet full of clothes, shoes, bags, and jewelry. My colleague and I came up with the idea of selecting the best fits and selling them on Facebook marketplace. It began as a hobby or side hustle, but soon my friend and I found ourselves with a large number of people requesting the same services. My colleague and I both quit our jobs and have been growing the company for the past five years. My friend and I were supposed to meet a new client this week, but Mary couldn’t because he was having his windows replaced. He had met with a window company a week before to get assistance with his home. Mary wanted new windows because the old ones let in too much hot air during the summer. She had his A/C on, but it wasn’t as effective due to poor insulation. So he decided to consult with a window company to find the best solution. They sent a window contractor to his house to conduct a thorough assessment. He recommended total window replacement, and Mary was eager to get the job done. He couldn’t imagine how bad the insulation would be in the winter if he had to deal with it in the summer. The window company did an excellent job, and Mary is now back at work while my friend and I visit our next client.

When I bought my first house, I had no idea what I was getting myself into.

To be honest, my mother did her best to advocate for me, but I still had a lot to learn; living in a rental home with a maintenance man is very different from being a homeowner.

When there was a problem in my rental apartment, all I had to do was call the maintenance guy. She’d come over to handle plumbing, electrical, and heating, ventilation, and air conditioning issues. I had a problem with the water heater once, and he was there in no time to fix it. I was able to take a hot shower before heading to work. However, as a homeowner, I am unable to simply call a manager to handle such issues. It is up to me to hire the right professionals for the job or risk living a life that will undoubtedly be uncomfortable. As an example, I needed assistance with my roof. My realtor had advised me to make an educated guess about roof replacement when purchasing the house. The previous owner was selling it for a low price because it needed a new roof, which I would have to pay for. I didn’t think this through and ended up struggling to find the right roofing contractor for the job. Fortunately, my mother has worked with roofing companies and assisted me in narrowing down the list. My colleague and I decided on a roofing contractor who had numerous positive reviews and worked in my neighborhood. He’d handle the roof replacement and, no doubt, the siding as well. I noticed on his website that he handles both roofing and siding issues.

Roofing Replacement

It had been such a long shift at the hospital and I just wanted to get home and rest.

I regularly find it a bit funny pulling into my house in the day as everyone else is leaving.

But, I also love the graveyard shift at the hospital so I can relax during the afternoon. My friend Carey was on his way to work when I pulled into my driveway. My friend and I spoke for a few minutes catching up since I’d not seen him in a few days. Carey happened to mention he’d had an issue with bees the previous afternoon. I worked a 24 hour shift so I wasn’t home when the bee rescue people arrived to remove the hive. He was lucky he discovered the bees before they built a huge hive in his backyard. There’s a part that Carey had left neglected and that’s where the bees chose to set up a current home. Luckily, there is a local bee eradication and rescue corp in the area and they managed to offer help when he called. A little while after Carey left, I heard a knock on my door as I was preparing something to eat. There was a man there with a pamphlet and he explained he was from the bee removal business. He wanted me to have his contact information in case I noticed any bees or wasps in my home. They’d come across multiple hives and were notifying all the people in my village. I felt nice having their contact information just to be safe. An expert can do a much better job when it comes to bee removal and ensuring they don’t come back again.

I regularly adore going to the farm to be with my grandma during summer.

And to be honest, it’s an occasion to be away from the city.

My mom works a lot of hours and I find summers alone at home quite boring. So, from the time I was six, I regularly insisted I wanted to go and be with Grandma. Mom would say it’s better to go to camp and learn something new. But, there was just as much to learn with all the animals and plants at the farm. I even have a cow and some goats that belong to me. I get to take care of them during summer, and Grandma looks after them when I go back home. This past summer, I arrived at the farm early as usual, just in time to witness some new life; my goat gave birth to twins and I was so blissful. One afternoon when my pal and I were out feeding the goats, grandma noticed a honey bee hive. The hive was still small, however too close to the animals for comfort. So, she had to act fast to get someone to remove the bees for relocation, and grandma told me about a guy who does honey bee removal in the area and takes them to his honey farm. For a small fee, he would come and take the bees away thus protecting the animals on the farm. Bee removal requires knowledge, so he felt much better leaving this issue for the guy to handle. I suited up with him when he got ready to rescue those bees and I got to enjoy the experience with him.
