My brother Jake & I are total opposites! Jake is strong & athletic, where I am small, skinny, & have asthma.

Jake is confident & never has a hard time making friends or getting dates.

I am nervous, shy, & awkward, & the last time I got a date she was the one who asked me out! I am a bookworm, with a school degree that can’t get me a job anywhere. Jake is a yellow collar kind of guy, who has been working for a local roofing contractor since he was 16 years old, and at the time I made fun of Jake, saying that he was settling for a working-class job instead of aiming a little higher! The joke is on me, because Jake is the one with the successful career in roofing, & I am saddled with student debt & no way to spend money it off! After I lost my household I moved in with Jake, who offered to get me a job with the roofing contractor. I was entirely hesitant to do this, because I know how hard it is to work away under the blazing warm sunshine doing roof replacements & repairs. Jake laughed at me, & said he would never allow me to attempt a roof repair, but he knew I was too soft for real roofing jobs, so he wanted to put me in the office to do paperwork. I said “do you mean I’ll be a secretary?” He laughed & told me that I was better suited to be a secretary than a roofing repair tech, & I had to admit he was right.

If I had it to do over again, I would make a weird choice, and it was about six months ago when a house inspection revealed I needed extreme roof repairs. If I didn’t have everything up to code in time, the insurance company would not renew my homeowner’s policy! As a side note, can my pal and I all agree that insurance companies are the biggest crooks plus scam artists in the world this week? Things are sure odd when you become a homeowner. There were so several things that I was looking forward to when it came to owning a home.
